| Well, I am Neil Amison. Originally from the middle of a field in rural Staffordshire but now a resident of the select part of Manchester known as Gatley (Cheshire, actually, dontcha know). Bikes happened as soon as possible, I blame the bus companies not planning a route to places where only 6 people and a few cats live. That's the who bit out of the way, not that interesting was it? The what is a little easier to cover. I am taking part (I hesitate to say competing as it is unlikely I will be that competitive just yet) in the NORA Supermoto championship. It's a series run on tracks comprising (in theory, but not always in pra ctice) both tarmac and dirt sections. For more detailed information on the specifications and rules for series, visit the NORA homepage. There you will find the rules and regulations, contact information and the lates championship standings. Now for another spectacular piece of passing the buck, it is all Joe Smith's fault for getting me into this! He took part in the 2001 championship and I wandered along to the windswept, barren desolate abandoned airfield that is Blyton (the home of UK Supermoto) to spectate. I think my comment was something like "it's a bit good, this 'ere racing lark, innit" (only in a more refined accent than that). Just before christmas 2001, a supermoto ready Honda CR500 was acquired, a NORA licence applied for and the rest is written up in the reports pages of this here website. :) |
